Gensler is seeking a Brand Design Lead to join the Austin Lifestyle Studio on site in Austin, Texas. This role centers on signage and wayfinding, shaping experiences across Texas and beyond by blending brand strategy, storytelling, and spatial design. You will lead a diverse creative team, help grow the practice, and advance the business.
Responsibilities
- Drive ongoing business development and new client opportunities
- Represent the firm at industry events, presentations, and panels
- Elevate Gensler’s market presence and visibility
- Collaborate with the marketing group to manage business development reporting, lead generation, fee development, project marketing, proposals, and timely responses
- Cultivate a highly creative design team
- Foster an empowering, collaborative environment and support professional growth
- Develop staff capabilities through training in design, technical skills, communication, and project management
- Foster a creative and supportive studio culture
- Advocate for Brand team interests and resolve issues quickly
- Oversee efficiency and effectiveness of staff, business, and financial operations within the Dallas Brand team
- Manage and mentor staff
- Provide strategic direction for initiatives and project focus
- Participate in management and studio meetings, staffing, mentoring, and provide creative direction to design teams
- Collaborate with your team to deliver exceptional client experiences
- Oversee hiring, performance reviews, learning, professional development, bonuses, appointments, and evaluations
- Inspire creativity by partnering with design leaders to develop Brand strategies
- Lead projects and ensure client satisfaction
- Emphasize project processes, service delivery, work environment, documentation, and building client trust
- As appropriate, serve as the client liaison, guiding project teams as the voice of the client
- Collaborate with office leaders and Practice Area Leaders to promote an interdisciplinary design approach
Requirements
- At least 15 years of experience in brand strategy, print design, and environmental graphics
- Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, or related field
- Ability to engage with clients and generate new business
- Strong design sensibility with the ability to provide clear, constructive design reviews
- Excellent communication and experience as the main point of contact for clients, vendors, consultants, and project teams
- Proven ability to lead complex, multifaceted projects while practicing financial stewardship and meeting demanding schedules
- Ability to work with design leadership across Gensler to promote an interdisciplinary design philosophy internally and externally
- Commitment to developing, motivating, and mentoring junior design professionals
- Demonstrated success in building and sustaining client relationships
