Expert Designer, Energy Graphic Design, Global Jordan
Job Description
As an Expert Designer in Energy Graphic Design for Global Jordan, you will direct graphic design strategy and storytelling for Jordan Energy. This role translates streetwear and subculture narratives into cohesive graphic systems that span footwear, apparel, accessories, and brand partnerships, with onsite work in Beaverton, Oregon.
Responsibilities
- Shape and steer the graphic design direction across Jordan Energy's White Spaces, Ignite, and Sub-labels & Brand Partnerships, turning category and seasonal vision into unified graphic systems for footwear, apparel, accessories, and emerging product expressions.
- Lead end-to-end execution of graphic concepts from concept to delivery, upholding product integrity, innovation, and performance while managing multiple initiatives across timelines and platforms.
- Develop and apply design strategies that elevate seasonal storytelling, emphasizing strong conceptual thinking, craft, and meticulous attention to detail.
- Oversee design presentations and communications, clearly articulating graphic intent to cross-functional partners to ensure alignment with creative standards, schedules, and business requirements.
- Act as an innovation driver within the category, identifying opportunities to extend graphic expression into new spaces while remaining aligned with Jordan Energy and Jordan Brand principles.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to translate narratives into authentic, culturally relevant graphic storytelling systems across product and consumer touch points.
- Serve as a creative partner to internal stakeholders, navigating complexity, incorporating feedback, and balancing ambition with operational realities and brand integrity.
- Contribute to identifying and cultivating external creative talent, supporting collaborations with designers, artists, studios, and cultural partners.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in graphic design or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 8+ years of graphic design experience, preferably in product creation (footwear/apparel) or within an agency setting.
- A strong, well-curated portfolio demonstrating expertise across research, concept development, visual storytelling, process, and final execution; includes both individual and collaborative work on complex projects.
- Expert-level design skills with proficiency in ideation, development, specification, and execution, including typography, color theory, brand identity, and visual systems across product and storytelling platforms.
- High proficiency in Adobe Illustrator; working knowledge of InDesign and Photoshop strongly preferred. Familiarity with 3D design tools is a plus, with a willingness to learn.
- Proven ability to translate research, cultural insight, and narratives into compelling graphic systems that balance innovation, performance, and style.
- Strong storytelling and communication skills, able to present, defend, and evolve design concepts with cross-functional partners, senior leadership, and external collaborators.
- Experience managing work across multiple timelines and levels of complexity, prioritizing short- and long-term projects while maintaining creative excellence.
- Comfort collaborating across disciplines, with the ability to influence diverse perspectives to achieve aligned outcomes.
- Culturally fluent perspective informed by sport, streetwear, graphic design, music, and emerging creative communities, using insight over trend-chasing to guide work.
- Resilient and solutions-oriented, thriving in fast-paced, ambiguous environments while adapting to shifting business needs without compromising creative integrity.
- A commitment to mentorship and team development, with self-awareness and the ability to support growth in others.
