Designer II, Energy Footwear & Apparel Graphic Design
Job Description
Nike Energy is seeking a bold, open-minded Product Graphic Designer to develop original visuals for apparel and footwear.
Responsibilities
- Report to the ENERGY – Graphic Design Director and work with Graphic peers, Footwear and Apparel Designers, Color Designers, Materials Designers, Developers, and Product Line Managers
- Create original graphics, prints, trims, and packaging tailored to each product’s needs
- Produce design solutions that connect trend, design, development, and manufacturing through partnership with internal and external teams
Requirements
- Submit a creative design portfolio with website links or attached PDF files when applying
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or related field (will accept a suitable combination of education, experience, and training)
- 1–4+ years of directly relevant work experience
- Passion for current and emerging design trends, including contemporary art, sports, streetwear, and youth culture
- Proven ability to develop concepts, iterate, and collaborate with multidisciplinary product and creative teams
- Capability to translate insights into authentic narratives and visual storytelling
- Ability to adapt to change and balance multiple competing priorities
- Strong visual and verbal communication skills for presenting design intent to internal and external audiences
- Graphic design fundamentals including drawing/sketching, typography, ideation, texture use, spacing, scale, visual presentation development, and layout supported by portfolio work that includes non-digital creative work
- Knowledge of apparel graphic application, repeat pattern creation, printing techniques for textiles, trim design, and how designs translate from digital to physical
- Understanding of apparel product creation and basic garment construction
- Ability to embrace diverse perspectives and support an inclusive environment
- Awareness of Nike’s brand, design ethos, and cultural relevance, with ability to create original graphics reflecting Nike’s design DNA
- Proficiency in Adobe CC and comfort working in emerging digital spaces
- Open-minded, resilient problem-solving skills
