Job Description

Nike is seeking a design leader to guide original graphic concepts for Jordan Basketball and build scalable visual systems across footwear, apparel, and accessories. Based in Beaverton, OR (onsite), this role partners closely with product and creative teams to shape cohesive graphic direction and connect consumer experiences from concept through production.

About the role

In this full-time Design position, you will lead graphic design efforts for Basketball, driving cross-category initiatives and establishing a strong, consistent visual language across the product portfolio. You will translate creative direction and cultural insights into executable product solutions while navigating ambiguity across creative vision, consumer expectations, and complex cross-functional teams.

What you’ll work on

  • Set, lead, and deliver graphic design for Jordan Basketball in collaboration with a Senior Manager
  • Create original concepts and scalable visual systems across footwear, apparel, and accessories
  • Connect creative vision, cultural insight, and consumer relevance while guiding work from early concept through product-ready execution
  • Lead and shape visual language across the product portfolio through internal, cross-category initiatives

Key responsibilities

  • Create and drive original concepts across footwear, apparel, and accessories
  • Build visual systems using brand marks, typography, composition, illustration, print or pattern, color theory, and image-making
  • Translate creative direction and cultural insights into product and carry ideas from concept through production
  • Navigate ambiguity across creative vision, consumer expectations, and complex cross-functional teams
  • Develop and present concepts clearly to creative and cross-functional partners, incorporate feedback, and protect the strength of the idea

Required qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional experience creating and leading graphic concepts for apparel, footwear, accessories, or related consumer products
  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Product Design, Visual Communication, or a related field (Nike will accept a suitable combination of education, experience, and training, with at least 5 years working professionally)
  • Advanced proficiency with Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe InDesign, including strong illustration, typography, and image-making capabilities
  • Fluency in color theory, visual culture, storytelling, and presentation development
  • Demonstrated ability to organize complex work, manage competing priorities, and meet project and meeting deadlines
  • Thought leadership recognized as a subject matter leader, with the capability to lead younger designers
  • Proactive observation of trends across consumer culture, emerging subcultures, and creative communities
  • Ability to develop and implement initiatives aligned to organizational vision, including participation in role-specific research to track external market activity
  • MUST submit a portfolio to be considered
