Senior, Product Designer, Apparel, Energy Sportswear (Collaborations)
Job Description
Nike’s Beaverton campus hosts a Senior Product Designer position within the Energy Sportswear Collaborations, where apparel ideas meet athletic innovation. You’ll lead seasonal design concepts and collaborate with external partners to shape final designs, working closely with Design, Technical Development, and Product Management to align with development timelines and brand standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop original apparel designs that reflect the brand philosophy and standards, under the guidance of the Design Director.
- Collaborate with external partners to explore design areas neither party could achieve alone.
- Own all apparel product details, including construction, color, form, styling, fit performance, and trims.
- Partner with Design, Technical Development, and Product Management to ensure designs are feasible within product creation timelines.
- Present design concepts to internal and external audiences with support from design leadership.
- Create presentation materials that clearly convey the concept behind each seasonal design.
- Research current trends, color palettes, and sports-related products, tying insights to consumer needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Apparel/Fashion Design or related field; or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
- 3+ years of relevant work experience.
- Ability to apply design skills including drawing/sketching, ideation, color theory, texture use, spacing and scale, and visual presentation development.
- Familiarity with current trends, color, and design.
- Basic knowledge of pattern making, draping, materials, trims, garment fit, garment construction, and manufacturing.
- Foundational understanding of the apparel industry, marketing principles, and the development process.
