Job Description
Senior Motion Designer at Google collaborates with cross-functional teams to apply animation that clarifies complex interactions and helps shape Google's motion design language.
Responsibilities
- Develop early motion concepts and high-fidelity mocks, pushing inventive approaches to evolve Google’s AI era design language.
- Collaborate with designers, product managers, and engineers to mature bold ideas; respond to feedback swiftly with strong teamwork to refine motion concepts and specs in real time while keeping the overall vision cohesive.
- Produce comprehensive documentation and implementation guidance that enables developers to translate motion designs accurately into code, including timing, easing, and state changes.
- Provide clear rationale and context for unique animations, ensuring expressive concepts are technically viable and integrate smoothly into product experiences.
- Translate ambiguity into tangible visuals that test UI conventions and validate how motion communicates state, feedback, and hierarchy.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in product design or UX.
- Experience with physics-based concepts, motion design patterns, and visual design elements.
