Job Description

Senior Motion Designer role at Google in Sunnyvale, CA, focusing on motion concepts and shaping Google's motion design language through cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Create initial motion concepts and high-fidelity mocks, exploring new approaches for Google's AI era design language.
  • Partner with designers, product managers, and engineers to evolve bold ideas, respond to feedback swiftly, and refine motion concepts and specs in real time to keep the overall vision cohesive.
  • Produce detailed documentation and rationale to guide developers in accurate motion implementation.
  • Offer the necessary context for unique animations, ensuring expressive concepts are technically viable and integrate smoothly.
  • Navigate ambiguity by translating complex ideas into tangible visuals that test user interface conventions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 6 years of experience in product design or UX.
  • Experience related to physics, patterns, motion design, and visual design elements.
  • Include a portfolio, website, or other relevant link in your resume with viewable access instructions.

Compensation and benefits

  • US: $159,000 - $230,000 per year + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits
  • Germany: €112,000 - €114,000 (EUR) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits
