Staff UX Designer, Visual and Motion Design, Beam

This onsite Staff UX Designer role blends strategic leadership with hands-on craft in motion and visuals, guiding Beam across cross-functional teams. Based in Mountain View, CA with potential work from the Playa Vista campus, the position carries a salary range of $188,000 to $275,000 per year plus a 20% target bonus, equity, and a full benefits package.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the long-term product and user experience strategy for the Beam platform, aligning cross-functional leaders
• Advance the cinematic vision of the platform by delivering concept reels and high-fidelity motion mockups as a hybrid motion and visual specialist
• Develop a premium motion language and set standards for visual and motion systems within 3D environments to maintain a cohesive identity
• Collaborate with User Research to evaluate emotional resonance and usability of premium motion and visual patterns through high-fidelity simulations
• Address ambiguous spatial design challenges, including geospatial design and depth-based visual hierarchy, using rapid high-fidelity visualization to scale features

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
• 8 years of experience in product design or UX, with a focus on hybrid visual and motion design
• Experience with 3D design tools or motion graphics software
