Motion Designer, CX

Meta is seeking a Motion Designer, CX to help shape brand and marketing motion graphics from concept through animation. This role supports production at scale by creating reusable motion systems, templates, and tools, while working in a hybrid workflow that blends scripting, procedural techniques, and AI-powered capabilities. You will collaborate with creative and technical partners to deliver consistent, reliable, high-quality outputs across Meta’s products.

What you’ll do

• Concept, design, and animate motion graphics for marketing campaigns, social content, and product launches across Meta’s family of apps and hardware products
• Turn creative briefs and brand principles into clear visual narratives, applying judgment across animation, composition, typography, color, and pacing
• Produce final assets for multiple formats and channels, managing priorities, production details, and creative feedback across several projects
• Build and maintain modular motion systems, reusable animation components, and templates that allow creative variation while preserving brand consistency
• Partner with technical producers or engineers for API integrations and production deployment where needed
• Use expressions, scripting, procedural techniques, and data-driven animation to automate repeatable tasks such as content population, asset resizing, versioning, and rendering
• Integrate AI-powered tools into hybrid creative workflows using prompting, context, and iteration to generate controlled, high-quality results
• Test and refine motion systems against real production needs by assessing creative quality, reliability, and efficiency, then troubleshoot failures and improve workflows from team feedback
• Document and share reusable tools, templates, and workflow instructions, organizing source files and assets and applying brand, technical, and responsible AI quality checks before delivery

What you bring

• 5+ years of motion design experience creating video marketing assets, social content, or brand communications, with a portfolio showing strong animation craft and visual storytelling
• Proficiency with After Effects and relevant Adobe Creative Suite tools, with demonstrated understanding of composition, color, typography, timing, and pacing
• Hands-on experience with creative coding or scripting (such as After Effects, React, or Python) to build animations, tools, or production automation
• Experience creating reusable motion templates, procedural animation setups, or creative workflows used across multiple assets or projects, with examples covering both the results and the system behind them
• Hands-on experience using AI-powered creative tools such as Weavy, Krea, Runway, or similar, including integrating generated outputs into finished creative work
• Ability to work independently from a brief, manage concurrent deliverables, and collaborate with creative and technical partners in a deadline-driven environment
• Working knowledge of audio/video formats, codecs, rendering, and delivery requirements, along with organized source-file, asset-management, and versioning practices

Preferred qualifications

• Experience applying responsible, ethical AI practices such as risk assessment, bias mitigation, and quality and accuracy reviews
• Experience with 3D tools such as Cinema 4D or Blender, character animation, or generative and procedural motion techniques applied to brand or product contexts
• Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize or redesign workflows and drive measurable impact such as efficiency gains or quality improvements
• Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development such as prompt/context engineering and agent orchestration, staying current with emerging AI technologies
• Experience contributing to or maintaining a brand or design system with motion principles, animation components, and scalable adaptation workflows

Location: New York, NY (onsite). Salary: USD 122,000 - 175,000 per year. Minimum experience: 5 years.
