Adaptive is expanding its design team and looking for a second Product Designer to help design and ship user-centric product features for small-business builders in construction. In this role, you will report to the Lead Designer and work closely with product and engineering to support an AI agents effort aimed at automating construction back-office work.

Based in New York, NY, this position is onsite and supports a product design focus that blends end-to-end ownership with strong collaboration across teams.

What you will do

  • Participate in user research and usability testing to validate solutions and improve the experience
  • Contribute to and help evolve the design system to keep design consistent and scalable across the platform
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align user needs, business goals, and the overall product vision

What you bring

  • 3–5 years of product design experience, ideally in SaaS or startup environments
  • Strong UX/UI design skills, with demonstrated experience in user research and design systems
  • Ability to own projects from concept to delivery
  • Excellent communication and storytelling with the ability to collaborate across product and engineering
  • Comfort working in fast-evolving processes and building in an AI-native product

Schedule

  • In-office mandate: work Monday–Thursday in Adaptive’s Union Square office

Compensation and benefits

  • USD 160,000 - 180,000 per year
  • Meaningful equity alongside a competitive salary
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) match and a flexible PTO policy
  • A seat at the table in a rapidly scaling vertical AI startup
  • Unlimited opportunities for professional growth and leadership

Role context: Adaptive is hiring its second product designer to help shape the product’s direction. You will define product experiences, help contribute to the design system, and run user research while partnering day-to-day with a Product Manager and engineering counterparts to design and ship key features, including the suite of AI agents built to automate construction back-office work.
