Job Description

Accenture seeks a Visual Design Manager to lead the visual design direction for engagements within Accenture Song. The role spans concept through delivery, shaping brand identities and design systems, and leveraging AI-enabled workflows to guide teams and client conversations.

Role Overview

The Visual Design Manager will direct the visual language across engagements, ensuring exceptional design quality, cohesive aesthetics, and timely delivery. This position requires translating abstract briefs, brand strategy, and audience insights into clear visual narratives, while balancing visionary concepts with hands-on production to achieve high-caliber outputs.

Location and Compensation

Location: Overland Park, KS (onsite). Compensation: USD 87,400 - 266,300 per year. Education: bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Minimum experience: 7 years of related work.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the visual design direction on engagements from concept through delivery, owning design quality, aesthetic consistency, and adherence to schedules.
  • Translate briefs, brand strategy, and audience insights into clear, compelling visual languages as a conceptual thinker.
  • Set and defend a high visual craft standard, directing brand identities, design systems, motion, typography, illustration, and digital experiences.
  • Be both visionary and hands-on: define creative direction while remaining close to the work and producing high-quality output with the team.
  • Utilize AI tools to accelerate concepting, iteration, and production, modeling how these tools augment creative thinking rather than replace it.
  • Serve as a leading creative voice in client discussions, translating design rationale into strategic narratives to guide high-pressure decisions.
  • Document how AI changes workflows and quantify its impact on delivery quality and team performance to evolve the practice.
  • Contribute to proposals, develop case studies, and translate project learnings into thought leadership that showcases visual design capabilities.
  • Identify and shape new creative opportunities with existing clients, partnering with account leads to frame compelling viewpoints around emerging challenges.
  • Manage, support, and mentor team members, fostering growth in visual craft, creative confidence, and independence.
  • Act as a steady contributor to the Visual Design craft, sharing methods and outcomes, and supporting the evolution of the discipline.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in Visual Design across multiple industries, brand types, platforms, and visual contexts.
  • Experience leading visual design engagements end-to-end, from creative concepting and visual strategy to production-ready delivery.
  • Directing the creation of brand identities, design systems, typography, motion, illustration, and digital UI with a strong, coherent visual voice.
  • Proven ability to produce and direct high-fidelity visual work with meticulous attention to detail, including pixel-perfect deliverables and developer-ready specs.
  • Direct management or mentorship of visual designers, with a track record of developing contributors into strong, independent practitioners.
  • Experience working in agile and cross-functional environments with product designers, product managers, engineers, and strategists.
  • Delivery of high-caliber visual design work shipped at scale, addressing complex product or brand challenges and driving measurable impact.
  • Strong UX understanding underpinning visual design decisions, ensuring intuitive user guidance and a coherent brand perspective.
  • Experience building and contributing to scalable design systems that maintain visual consistency across products, platforms, and channels.
  • Experience embedding AI tools and workflows into visual design practices from concept generation to rapid iteration and modeling AI-enabled workflows for teams.
  • Hands-on experience with design tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Claude Design, and relevant motion/illustration tools or AI design tools; this is not solely a managerial role.
  • Facilitation skills and creative presence; ability to present visual strategy and design rationale to senior client stakeholders and guide decisions under pressure.
  • Fluency in adjacent areas such as brand strategy, service design, or content design, with self-directed expansion of skillsets.
  • Experience contributing to practice-level initiatives, including ways of working, craft assets, onboarding, or community forums.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in visual design, visual communications, graphic design, fine art, or related field.
  • Experience in management consulting, a creative agency, or a professional services environment.
  • Active contribution to external thought leadership, such as publishing creative POVs, speaking at events, or representing the practice in the design community.
