Responsibilities
- Apply rigorous concept development and craftsmanship across projects and disciplines.
- Influence the program’s discipline tracks, phases, and the visual design direction on engagements.
- Develop and implement the visual language, design system, and outputs across touchpoints and phases including research, strategy, and UX under a lead’s guidance.
- Own the day-to-day creative workstream with guidance from your lead and support from junior teammates.
- Assume mentoring responsibilities within the team.
- Adopt AI as a creative enabler and integrate it into your workflow.
- Foster trusted relationships with clients and collaborators, aligning visual decisions with brand strategy and project goals.
- Help shape the visual design direction on engagements from concept through delivery, ensuring quality, aesthetic cohesion, and timely execution.
- Translate briefs, brand strategy, and audience insights into compelling visuals while developing an original visual point of view.
- Deliver high-quality visuals across brand identities, design systems, typography, motion, illustration, and digital experiences with strong craft and precision.
- Be hands-on and autonomous, owning your workstream, making deliberate design decisions, and delivering production-ready output with minimal direction.
- Leverage AI tools to accelerate concepting, iteration, and production, contributing to evolving AI-enabled practices within the team.
- Engage in client and stakeholder conversations, clearly communicating design rationales and developing a credible creative voice.
- Document how AI tools influence workflows, contributing to the practice’s evolving understanding of AI-enabled visual design.
- Support proposals and case studies by contributing project work, process documentation, and design narratives that showcase visual design capabilities.
- Monitor internal and client needs and identify opportunities for deeper work or expanded scope, communicating these to your lead.
- Provide informal mentorship to junior team members, sharing feedback and practical guidance to grow their visual craft.
- Be an active member of the Visual Design Craft community, contributing resources, discussions, and ongoing discipline development.
Requirements
- More than five years of experience in Visual Design across multiple industries, brand types, platforms, and contexts.
- Experience contributing to visual design engagements end-to-end, from concepting and visual strategy through to production-ready delivery.
- Proven ability to create brand identities, design systems, typography, motion, illustration, and digital UI with a strong and evolving visual voice.
- Delivering high-fidelity visuals with meticulous attention to detail, including pixel-perfect deliverables and developer-ready specifications.
- Experience providing feedback and informal guidance to junior designers, helping others develop their craft and creative confidence.
- Familiarity with agile and cross-functional environments, collaborating with product designers, product managers, engineers, and strategists to deliver cohesive experiences.
- Strong grounding in UX principles that informs visual decisions and guides users intuitively while expressing a coherent brand point of view.
- Experience contributing to scalable design systems that ensure visual consistency across products, platforms, and channels.
- Comfort using AI tools in visual design practice, from concept generation and mood-boarding to rapid iteration, with openness to evolving AI-enabled workflows.
- Recent hands-on experience with design tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and related motion, illustration, or AI design tools.
- Strong communication skills and experience developing client presence; ability to present design rationale and contribute to creative discussions with stakeholders.
