Job Description

Aqua (Adobe) is seeking an experienced Staff Product Designer to help shape creative tools and AI-powered experiences for kids and families. This onsite role in California focuses on end-to-end design, working from early vision and prototypes through launch while partnering with product managers and engineers to deliver intuitive, joyful workflows across mobile, web, and emerging surfaces.

What you will do

  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and cross-functional teams to rapidly prototype, test, and launch high-quality product experiences.
  • Lead end-to-end design initiatives, taking concepts and interactive prototypes through execution, iteration, and release.
  • Explore and communicate ideas using sketches, wireframes, prototypes, and emerging AI-assisted design and development tools.
  • Design intuitive workflows and interactions for complex creative tools, balancing user needs, business goals, and technical constraints.
  • Use research, user insights, and product data to guide decisions and continuously improve experiences.
  • Work closely with engineering to bring designs to life with speed, quality, and attention to detail.
  • Define scalable design patterns and systems to support efficient product development.
  • Share design vision and rationale through storytelling, critique, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Shape roadmap decisions using design thinking, customer insight, rapid experimentation, and cross-functional leadership.
  • Create cohesive experiences across mobile, web, and emerging surfaces, maintaining consistency across the Aqua ecosystem.

What you bring

  • 8+ years of product design experience, with a strong portfolio showing strategic thinking, interaction design, and end-to-end product execution across web, iOS, and Android.
  • Experience designing consumer products, creative tools, productivity software, or playful experiences that inspire curiosity, creativity, and exploration.
  • A strong understanding of user-centered design principles and a passion for intuitive, joyful experiences for all ages, especially kids and families.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard design and prototyping tools, including AI-assisted design and development workflows.
  • Ability to rapidly explore ideas, prototype concepts, and communicate product vision through interactive experiences.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to partner across teams and independently drive projects forward in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience partnering closely with product and engineering to deliver ambitious design visions from early exploration through launch.
  • A passion for design, creativity, storytelling, and building technology experiences that spark imagination.
  • Experience operating in ambiguous, early-stage, or 0 to 1 environments.
  • Experience designing accessible and inclusive interfaces for people with disabilities.
  • Familiarity with WCAG standards and testing for accessibility compliance.

Compensation and location

  • The U.S. pay range for this position is USD 146,300 - 274,300 per year.
  • In California, the pay range for this position is USD 189,400 - 274,300 per year.
  • Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary, with short-term incentives provided through the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).
  • Certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives via a new hire equity award.

State and legal notes
