Product Designer

Palantir Technologies is seeking a Product Designer to contribute across interaction and visual design, user research, and prototyping while closely partnering with engineers to translate concepts into working software. This onsite role in Washington, DC offers a compensation range of USD 105,000 to 175,000 per year, reflecting the impact and scope of the work.

Responsibilities

• Engage in all stages of design work, helping define early product concepts, detailing the high‑level workflow and micro‑interactions of features, and delivering crisp, effective visual design. Experience with mockup and prototyping tools is expected.
• Conduct informal user research and adapt research approaches to achieve the right outcomes, demonstrating flexibility in methodologies.
• Prototype to communicate design ideas and validate decisions throughout the design process.
• Collaborate closely with product teams and forward deployed engineers, treating engineers as partners to prototype and build out products.
• Maintain awareness of how software interfaces are built, with familiarity in HTML, CSS, Javascript, and Typescript. You do not need to be an expert, but should be fluent enough to collaborate with engineers; mentorship and resources are available to deepen frontend knowledge.

Requirements

• Active US Security clearance or eligibility and willingness to obtain a US Security clearance.
• A portfolio demonstrating at least one software interface design project. If parts of the portfolio are password‑protected, include the password under Additional Information when applying.
