Product Designer
Job Description
This Product Designer role is responsible for taking ownership of key areas across web and mobile applications at UNIS, from concept through release. You will design new features, improve usability in existing product areas, and collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Research, including incorporating AI tools into your workflow.
Location and Compensation
- Location: Buena Park, CA (onsite)
- Salary: USD 90,000 - 95,000 per yearly
Responsibilities
- Lead design for new features across web and mobile, producing user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and final UI designs.
- Own existing product areas and improve them over time by fixing usability issues and updating older designs.
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering to define requirements and balance new work with ongoing product improvements.
- Use customer feedback, usability testing, and analytics to guide design decisions and evaluate results after release.
- Use AI tools to accelerate research synthesis, early concepts, and prototyping, while reviewing and refining all outputs yourself.
- Contribute to the design system and keep design files, specs, and documentation up to date.
- Support engineers during development by reviewing builds before release and presenting work in design reviews.
Requirements
- Bilingual proficiency: Chinese and English
- Experience: 3 to 5 years in product design, including launching new features and improving existing web or mobile applications
- Portfolio: Demonstrates process, decisions, and results
- Design skills: Strong interaction design, visual design, accessibility skills, and advanced Figma experience
- AI workflow: Hands-on experience using AI tools in design workflow, with judgment to identify when outputs require additional refinement
- Collaboration: Experience working on cross-functional agile teams with strong communication and the ability to explain design decisions
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working on a design system
- Experience updating older or legacy products
- Experience in logistics, supply chain, or warehouse software, or with data-heavy, workflow-based applications
- Basic knowledge of frontend development frameworks and templates
- Experience using AI prototyping or code-based tools to test ideas quickly, such as Figma Make, v0, or Cursor
