UI/UX Engineer
Job Description
Sunflare LLC is hiring a UI/UX Engineer to design clinician-facing AI decision support experiences and help implement them in React and TypeScript.
Responsibilities
- Own product and interaction design end to end for clinician and practice staff workflows, from first sketches to interaction-level detail
- Transform messy clinical data and non-deterministic AI output into interfaces that are calm, legible, and fast to act on
- Design AI decision support product surfaces, including:
- Streaming model output
- Human-in-the-loop review and approval
- Citation and source display
- Ranked suggestions
- Honest signaling of confidence and uncertainty
- Own and expand the design system: components, patterns, tokens, and guidelines to keep the product consistent as surface area grows
- Ensure the product remains usable by engineers while maintaining accessibility honesty (including WCAG)
- Build interactive prototypes in Figma and in code where helpful to pressure-test ideas with clinicians and the team before production
- Contribute to the front end by turning design intent into clean React + TypeScript, either shipping work yourself or pairing closely with engineers
- Partner with product and clinical stakeholders on research with real clinicians
- Help plan, run, and translate research findings into design decisions
Requirements
- 3+ years designing digital products end to end, with a portfolio showing product thinking plus visual and interaction craft
- Product sense: reasoning about user workflows and trade-offs, not only pixel-level execution
- AI product UX experience or readiness to design interfaces for:
- Streaming output
- Review-and-approve flows
- Citations and grounding
- Uncertainty presentation without overstating it
- Design systems: hands-on experience building or owning a design system, with strong understanding of accessibility (WCAG) and responsive design
- Fluent in Figma and comfortable in code
- Prototyping in React and TypeScript, and production shipping experience is ideal
- Communication: clearly explain design decisions to engineers, product, and clinical partners; incorporate feedback without ego
- Bachelor’s degree (required)

- Experience with regulated or high-stakes products (healthcare, clinical, or other high-compliance environments)
- Work on LLM feature design in a shipped product
- Personal workflow comfort with AI tooling, including judgment about when it helps
- Design education (degree in design, HCI, or related) or an equivalent portfolio and experience
