Job Description

Robotics Technologies is seeking a UI/UX Engineer / Architect to lead UI/UX architecture and user experience initiatives for enterprise applications in St. Paul, MN (onsite). This is a hands-on role focused on turning requirements into strong UX systems, responsive interfaces, and accessible implementations aligned with WCAG 2.1/2.2.

You will help shape design strategy, build reusable UI patterns through a mature design system, and partner directly with product and engineering teams to ensure designs translate accurately to production. The engagement is 8 Months + Extension with an hourly rate of $74/hour (C2C) and multiple work arrangement options including W-2, 1099, and C2C.

What you’ll do

  • Lead UI/UX architecture, design strategy, and user experience initiatives across enterprise applications.
  • Translate business requirements into user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs.
  • Develop and maintain design systems, reusable UI components, and design standards.
  • Partner with product managers, business analysts, architects, and engineering teams to align UX decisions across the product.
  • Create responsive and accessible interfaces for both web and mobile.
  • Conduct user research, usability testing, and design validation to improve outcomes.
  • Ensure visual consistency, interaction patterns, and overall user experience quality.
  • Work closely with front-end developers to ensure accurate, implementation-ready designs.
  • Optimize usability, performance, and accessibility in accordance with WCAG.

What you bring

  • 8+ years of experience in UI/UX design, engineering, or architecture.
  • Hands-on experience with Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or similar tools.
  • Expertise in UX research, wireframing, prototyping, user journeys, and interaction design.
  • Experience building and managing enterprise-level design systems and component libraries.
  • Strong understanding of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and modern front-end frameworks such as React or Angular.
  • Experience with responsive design, mobile-first design, and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards including WCAG 2.1/2.2 and usability best practices.
  • Understanding of REST APIs, front-end architecture, and component-based development.
  • Experience collaborating with Agile/Scrum development teams.

Helpful background (preferred)

  • Experience designing enterprise, government, or public-facing applications.
  • Knowledge of design tokens, Material UI, Bootstrap, and Tailwind CSS.
  • Experience with UX analytics, A/B testing, and usability metrics.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based environments such as Azure/AWS.
  • Experience leading UI/UX teams and mentoring designers/developers.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
