Job Description

Work with frontier AI design tools while applying your craft to real, professional standards. As an independent contractor, you will design and evaluate visual UI/UX briefs and compare AI outputs across identical prompts and assets. This is an opportunity to work from home, set your own pace, and choose projects that match your interests.

Location: Saint Paul, MN (onsite)
Job type: contract
Compensation: USD 75 to 125 per hour

Responsibilities

Create realistic, challenging design briefs based on your professional expertise.
Run briefs through frontier AI design tools and evaluate the results against the standards you would expect from a colleague.
Compare two model versions using identical prompts and assets, selecting which performed better and identifying where each fell short.
Critique model-generated interfaces, mockups, layouts, slides, infographics, illustrations, and motion.
Document specific failures with evidence, including alignment and spacing, content overflow or cutoff, typography, visual hierarchy, SVG and illustration quality, ignored assets, and off-brief interpretation.
Contribute across software and interactive work, office and presentation design, technical illustration, graphic design, and new media.

Requirements

Fluency in English (native or bilingual level).
Background in UI/UX design, web design, product design, or graphic design.
Strong understanding of visual hierarchy, layout, typography, interaction design, and user flow.
Ability to articulate why a design fails, not just that it fails.
Comfort working with AI design tools, or the ability to learn them quickly.
A current, in progress, or completed Bachelor’s is preferred (but not required).

Benefits

Choose which projects you want to work on and when.
Work on your own schedule, on your own computer, from the comfort of your home.
Hourly pay up to $75–$125 USD per hour, with bonus rates available on some projects.
Payment made via PayPal.

Important notes

Payment is made via PayPal.
We will never ask for any money from you.
PayPal handles any currency conversions from USD.
Only applicants in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United States will be considered.
This is an independent contractor position.
