Job Description
Staff Product Designer for Back Office and Commercial experiences, onsite in California, focusing on a class-leading SaaS product across desktop, tablet, and mobile touchpoints, with a salary range of USD 168,200 - 269,900 per year.
Responsibilities
- Build deep expertise across multiple problem areas within the product to inform design decisions.
- Rapidly prototype solutions for visual and interaction challenges to test concepts quickly.
- Leverage AI tools in everyday workflow to speed prototyping, explore ideas earlier, and convert concepts into working interactions.
- Nurture positive, collaborative relationships with product, engineering, and research teams to explore, construct, and ship features.
- Conduct user conversations to uncover problems and current pain points.
- Design experiences that are simple, elegant, and address real user needs.
- Use remote tools to whiteboard, generate wireframes, and design in Figma to iterate toward a shippable solution.
- Collaborate effectively with teams across time zones, emphasizing asynchronous communication and a low-ego, collaborative style.
- Validate product ideas through experimental design and research approaches.
- Deliver valuable, high-quality work without sacrificing speed.
- Mentor junior designers to cultivate user empathy and advocate for user needs.
- Represent user perspectives in product strategy and roadmap discussions.
- Review design work and provide constructive feedback to peers.
- Act as an active mentor to designers, helping them build context, strong decision making, and empathy for users through guidance that strengthens the team.
Requirements
- Experience designing modern SaaS or enterprise platforms, or comparable systems.
- A standout portfolio that demonstrates UX, interaction, and visual design, plus ideation or prototyping to convey design solutions.
- Experience designing AI assisted workflows with agentic interactions that feel trustworthy, controllable, and clear for users.
- A passion for solving complex product problems with simple design solutions, balancing strategy, research, information architecture, and interaction design.
- Expertise in the end-to-end iterative design process, including design research, user stories, journey mapping, wireframing, prototyping, user testing, and high-fidelity visuals to achieve human-centered outcomes.
- Experience collaborating with other designers to build a cohesive product.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to explain the rationale behind design decisions to the team and stakeholders.
