Job Description

Squarespace’s Commercial Growth organization is building end-to-end commercial experiences that help customers discover, compare, and purchase with clarity. As a Staff Product Designer, you’ll translate monetization strategy into scalable, intuitive UX systems across the surfaces that shape conversion, partnering closely with product, engineering, and RevSys while helping elevate craft across the team.

What you’ll own

You’ll lead design across plan selection, cart merchandising, and cross-sell, creating cohesive experiences across the full commercial ecosystem rather than treating each flow as a standalone problem. This includes connecting Frontsite-connected journeys to downstream conversion so discovery and purchase feel intentional and aligned across teams.

How you’ll create impact

  • Translate monetization strategy into scalable UX by partnering with Commercial Strategy on pricing, packaging, bundling, discounting, and messaging, turning business requirements into flexible, reusable design patterns.
  • Build cross-sell and merchandising systems including placements, supporting assets, and interaction models that map to targeting strategy, designed to scale across product lines.
  • Partner across product, engineering, and RevSys to shape customer-facing purchase and conversion flows, aligned to shared systems and implementation constraints.
  • Design for targeting and experimentation with Platform and Data Science when experimentation logic or personalization affects UX, ensuring testing and personalization are grounded in the customer journey.
  • Establish design consistency across Commercial Growth as the organization unifies, defining patterns, principles, and standards that bring coherence across a multi-surface ecosystem.
  • Mentor and elevate craft by providing sharp, actionable feedback, pairing with designers on complex systems problems, and raising the quality bar across systems thinking, visual craft, and interaction design.

What you bring

  • 10+ years of product design experience at a digital product company, including time operating at a Staff or equivalent level.
  • A portfolio showing complex, systems-level work, ideally across commerce, checkout, pricing, or monetization surfaces, with clear impact on user and business outcomes.
  • Experience leading cross-functional workstreams from ambiguity to shipped product, including setting direction, defining milestones, and aligning stakeholders across product, engineering, and data teams.
  • A track record translating business and monetization requirements into scalable UX patterns across a broad product portfolio.
  • Strong systems thinking to architect simple-feeling experiences by mapping data models, flows, and dependencies across multiple product areas.
  • High-agency execution in ambiguous environments, structuring the space by framing problems, surfacing constraints, and clarifying goals for others.
  • Experience designing for or alongside experimentation and targeting systems, understanding how personalization and A/B logic affect UX.
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling, capable of moving from strategy to concrete UX decisions and representing design rationale to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Experience leading by example and coaching designers at different levels.
  • Experience working on Frontsite or marketing-site-connected journeys is a strong plus.

Benefits

  • Medical plans with an option for 100% covered premiums including medical, dental, and vision
  • Supplemental Life and Disability Insurance plans
  • Fertility and adoption benefits
  • Headspace mindfulness app subscription
  • Global Employee Assistance Program
  • Retirement benefits with employer match
  • Flexible paid time off
  • 12 weeks paid parental leave and family care leave
  • Pretax commuter benefit
  • Education reimbursement
  • Employee donation match to community organizations
  • 7 Global Employee Resource Groups (ERGs)
  • Dog-friendly workplace
  • Free lunch and snacks
  • Private rooftop
  • Hack week twice per year
