Motion Designer

As a Motion Designer at Anthropic, you will define and evolve brand expression through movement and animation within the Creative Studio. You will report to the Head of Brand Design and collaborate with designers, external partners, and cross‑functional teams to advance the brand across products and campaigns. This is a remote role.

Responsibilities

• Develop motion work that sets the quality standard and inspires colleagues, contributing to product launches, marketing campaigns, and research releases
• Shape the motion design strategy by crafting foundational patterns that strengthen brand recognition through animation
• Build and document scalable frameworks and standards to enable motion across the organization
• Mentor teammates in motion design principles and practices to grow brand expertise
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to elevate motion design in projects while maintaining high quality
• Own emerging motion needs across product, events, and campaigns as the practice expands

Requirements

• Minimum 6 years of motion design experience with a portfolio that demonstrates both craft and systematic thinking
• Deliver high quality motion work while establishing repeatable patterns that others can learn from
• Ability to develop motion design systems and teach others to scale our brand expression
• Bridge hands‑on execution with strategic thinking about how motion supports the brand
• Collaborate effectively with teams across the company, including product, engineering, research, and marketing
• Stay current with motion design tools and recommend the appropriate ones for different needs
• Balance creative exploration with practical constraints in a fast paced environment
• Motivated to help build a motion practice and grow ownership over time

Logistics

• Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience
• Required field of study: A field relevant to the role demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience
• Minimum years of experience: The number of years required aligns with internal job level requirements
• Location-based hybrid policy: Currently, all staff are expected to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time; some roles may require more time onsite
• Salary: USD 260,000 - 305,000 per year
