Job Description

Based in San Antonio, TX, this onsite UX Product Designer role sits within Deloitte’s DT-US Product Engineering team, shaping design strategy and the big-picture workflow while delivering strong visual and interaction design. The position seeks a versatile design generalist with deep interaction design expertise and lean UX experience to drive meaningful product experiences from concept through delivery, with a salary range of $97,000 to $200,000 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Own design and usability for a product area, with accountability for outcomes.
  • Link the product to an overarching experience vision.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to craft engaging, intuitive experiences using an iterative lean UX approach focused on continuous improvement.
  • Lead teams in framing and solving complex experience problems.
  • Advance innovative UX efforts that create new user value and experiences.
  • Facilitate cross-functional workshops.
  • Apply your expertise in experience craft to the product team, deeply consider complex challenges, and propose effective, elegant solutions.
  • Make strategic design decisions about core functions and new features.
  • Develop novel approaches to design problems and present them through presentations, mockups, and clickable prototypes to realize vision.
  • Create strategic, big-picture workflows while executing detailed visual and interaction design.
  • Partner with user researchers and influence studies to discover unresolved interface problems and design opportunities.
  • Design and deliver all UX assets—concept designs, user flows, wireframes, usage scenarios, journeys, and mockups—that support intuitive interactions.
  • Balance business priorities with user needs to craft impactful experiences.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, engineering, product, and delivery to converge on solutions that meet strategy objectives and KPIs.
  • Contribute to a cohesive design framework, ensuring consistent language across the product suite and maintaining a library of reusable design assets.
  • Engage hands-on in experience craft modeling through active project participation.
  • Conduct heuristic evaluations to identify improvement opportunities in existing products.
  • Uphold user-centered design standards, iterate rapidly, and test to improve usability and cross-touchpoint consistency.
  • Challenge design effectiveness, monitor analytics, and suggest optimizations to enhance the user experience.
  • Work effectively in collaborative UX settings or autonomously as the sole designer on a squad.
  • Share knowledge and improvements within the experience community of practice and stay current with UX trends.

Requirements

  • 8+ years as an interaction or product designer with a proven history of creating intuitive interfaces that engage users.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Psychology, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Strong ability to work independently and within a team, with excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a track record of delivering high-quality work.
  • Ability to build relationships and lead projects or workstreams; capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and professional demeanor; capable of meeting deadlines and mentoring others.
  • Extensive experience with Design Thinking, Lean UX, and iterative testing based on user feedback.
  • Experience operating in a Product-led, empowered cross-functional squad that moves quickly to meet user needs and deliver business impact.
  • Deep understanding of interactive design principles, delivering simple, elegant, usable, and accessible interfaces across desktop and mobile with responsive/adaptive design.
  • Creative and analytical mindset, balancing strategic vision with hands-on execution.
  • Collaborative, open-minded approach and a drive to continuously learn and iterate on designs.
  • Thrives in dynamic environments, quickly incorporating feedback to improve outcomes.
  • Passion for UX and innovation, staying attuned to trends and new methodologies.
  • Strong presentation and stakeholder communication skills, capable of advocating design concepts and rationale and building consensus.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills; ability to work independently to meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard UX tools (Sketch, Adobe CC, Figma, Axure, InVision, UXPin, Balsamiq).
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available; ability to travel 0-10% as needed.
  • A strong portfolio or work samples demonstrating UX skills is required.
