UX Product Designer
Job Description
Senior UX Product Designer on Deloitte's DT-US Product Engineering team, onsite in Grand Rapids, MI, shaping broad workflows and delivering high quality visual and interaction design through lean UX and user research.
Responsibilities
- Own the design and usability of a product area, tying the work to the overall product experience vision.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to craft engaging experiences using an iterative lean UX approach with ongoing improvements.
- Lead teams in reframing complex experience challenges and drive innovative UX initiatives; run cross‑functional workshops.
- Apply expertise in the Experience craft to the product team, analyzing intricate problems and proposing elegant solutions.
- Make strategic design and user experience decisions for core capabilities and new features.
- Develop new approaches to complex design problems and convey them through presentations, mockups, and interactive prototypes.
- Create both big picture workflows and detailed visual and interaction designs.
- Partner with researchers and influence studies to uncover unresolved interface issues and opportunities.
- Design and deliver UX assets including concept designs, user flows, wireframes, scenarios, journeys, and mockups.
- Balance business priorities with user needs to craft impactful experiences.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, engineering, product, and delivery to realize solutions aligned with strategy and KPIs.
- Contribute to a cohesive design framework, ensuring consistent language and reusable assets across the product suite.
- Engage hands-on in Experience craft modeling across projects.
- Perform heuristic evaluations to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Uphold user centered design standards, iterating quickly and testing to improve usability and consistency.
- Monitor design effectiveness and analytics, proposing enhancements to optimize the user experience.
- Work effectively with other UX designers or autonomously as the sole designer on a squad when required.
- Share practices and improvements within the UX community of practice and stay current with trends.

- Strong grasp of interactive design principles, delivering simple, elegant, usable, accessible interfaces.
- Extensive experience designing for desktop and mobile with responsive and adaptive approaches.
- Passion for solving user pain points through design thinking and user feedback.
- Creative and analytical mindset, able to bridge strategy and hands-on execution.
- Collaborative and open to feedback, with a willingness to iterate.
- Thrives in dynamic environments and iterates rapidly.
- Strong enthusiasm for UX and innovation, with interest in current design trends and methods.
- Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, able to communicate with developers and executives and influence decisions.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills; able to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Proficient with industry standard UX tools: Sketch, Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma, Axure, InVision, UXPin, Balsamiq.
- Degree in Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Psychology, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.
- Ability to travel 0–10 percent as needed.
- A strong portfolio or work samples demonstrating UX skills is required.
