Job Description

FiberFirst is seeking a UI/UX Developer to take ownership of customer-facing digital experiences and connect design decisions directly to front-end implementation. This role covers web, mobile, marketing and support tooling, analytics presentation, and accessibility, performance, and usability across multiple surfaces.

Role Overview

The UI/UX Developer will own the design and front-end build of FiberFirst’s customer-facing products, including the website, customer mobile application, and self-service experiences. Responsibilities include translating customer and business needs into user flows and interfaces, implementing those experiences, administering marketing and support platforms (including HubSpot), and ensuring accessibility, performance, and usability.

Responsibilities

  • Own design and front-end implementation for FiberFirst customer-facing web properties, including marketing pages, lead and signup forms, and self-service flows, from concept through live deployment.
  • Design the UI and UX for the customer mobile application and partner with the development partner to ensure shipped outcomes match the designed experience.
  • Build and maintain a design system and component library to keep the website, mobile app, and internal reporting visually consistent and on brand.
  • Administer and optimize marketing and support platforms, including HubSpot, and ensure clean integration with the website, the mobile app, and the wider customer systems ecosystem.
  • Co-own requirements with Marketing, translating campaign strategy, brand initiatives, and lead-generation goals into functional digital experiences, with correct flow of lead and prospect data between platforms.
  • Implement front-end changes directly, including markup, styling, and scripting, across forms, consent and compliance elements, landing pages, and content updates without relying on an external queue.
  • Design the presentation layer of Power BI dashboards and reports, including layout, visual hierarchy, color, and accessibility, to make analytics clear and usable.
  • Partner with the automation and conversational-AI team on embedded self-service surfaces such as chat, scheduling, and troubleshooting to maintain a continuous customer journey across channels.
  • Translate customer research, contact-driver data, and business requirements into designs that reduce customer effort and support contacts.
  • Own accessibility (WCAG), responsive and mobile-first layouts, page performance, and cross-browser and cross-device behavior.
  • Plan and run usability testing, collect feedback, and iterate using evidence rather than preference.
  • Review vendor design and front-end deliverables against requirements and raise gaps before production.
  • Maintain design assets, style guides, prototypes, and documentation as a single source of truth, managing intake and prioritization across multiple products and stakeholders.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction or Visual Design, Computer Science, or a related field, or an equivalent portfolio and demonstrated experience.
  • Three or more years designing and building digital products for web and/or mobile, with a portfolio of work shipped to real users.
  • Demonstrated experience owning a product surface end to end, including research, wireframing, prototyping, high-fidelity interface design, and front-end implementation.
  • Experience working from and contributing to a design system.
  • Experience administering or configuring a marketing automation or CRM platform; HubSpot specifically preferred.
  • Experience collaborating with or reviewing external development agencies or vendors preferred.
  • Experience designing data visualizations, dashboards, or reports preferred; Power BI experience preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency with a modern design and prototyping tool (e.g., Figma), and with product management or ticketing tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps).
  • Working proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and comfort making changes directly in a content management system such as WordPress.
  • Familiarity with a modern front-end or cross-platform framework (e.g., React or React Native) sufficient to read, review, and contribute to mobile application interface code.
  • Strong visual design skills across layout, typography, color, and interaction design with attention to detail.
  • User-centered design practice, including research, usability testing, and evidence-based iteration.
  • Working command of accessibility standards (WCAG) and responsive, mobile-first design.
  • A data-visualization mindset to make reports and dashboards clear, intuitive, and easy to act on.
  • Ability to present and defend design decisions to business stakeholders and vendors.
  • Ability to manage multiple products and competing priorities independently.
  • Familiarity with version control (Git) and a collaborative development workflow.
