Senior UI/UX Designer
Job Description
Contact Government Services, LLC is hiring a Senior UI/UX Designer to join the Information Technology department and support a technical support initiative for a large Federal agency. In this onsite role in Washington, DC, you will lead end-to-end UX/UI work, spanning user research through the delivery of responsive web and mobile interfaces.
Working within a fast-paced, multi-client environment, you will help define, design, and implement experiences for federal customers and their stakeholders. The role includes leading full-scale design efforts, evaluating existing systems, and collaborating closely with federal practice engineers and clients to produce innovative, intuitive solutions.
Responsibilities
- Lead full-scale UX design efforts, including research, blueprinting, and evaluation of existing systems.
- Plan, design, and support implementation across multiple sites and applications for multiple clients at the same time.
- Drive all phases of user research and analysis to inform highly usable web pages, application interfaces, and dynamic solutions.
- Collaborate with federal practice engineers and federal clients to define, design, and implement solutions that are innovative and intuitive.
- Create wireframes, storyboards, and site maps to communicate interaction and design ideas.
- Develop scalable design resources to support project collaboration and expansion of ECS creative services.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust.
- Strong UX design experience.
- 10+ years combined professional design experience (UCD, UI/UX design).
- A strong online portfolio demonstrating research-driven decisions for responsive web and mobile applications.
- Results-oriented problem solving with high standards for quality, accuracy, attention to detail, and overall excellence.
- Expertise in user research methodologies, user centered design principles and frameworks, and user interface design standards.
- Advanced understanding of user personas, user flows, affinity mapping, and other research tools.
- Knowledge of the website development life cycle (discovery, planning, design, requirements, coding, testing, and user testing and evaluation).
- Experience evaluating existing systems and processes to identify UX issues and provide UX recommendations.
- Experience designing web and mobile applications compliant with 508 and the US Web Design System (USWDS).
- Experience prioritizing features with attention to user goals and business requirements.
- Ability to carry designs from wireframes through delivery of final high-fidelity UI mockups.
- Experience establishing and maintaining rapid customer feedback loops to guide design at critical stages.
- Self-starter mindset with the ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Experience succeeding on both greenfield projects and redesigns of established platforms or products.
- Experience mentoring or leading junior designers.
- Advanced coding knowledge in HTML, CSS, and JS.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe xD, InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
