Senior UI/UX Designer

S R INTERNATIONAL INC is seeking a Senior UI/UX Designer for a contract role based in Columbus, OH with a hybrid work schedule. The position focuses on designing modern, intuitive, user-centered interfaces for complex, workflow-heavy applications within an Agile/Scrum environment.

Responsibilities

• Collect and translate UI/UX requirements from business users and stakeholders into actionable design direction.
• Produce wireframes, prototypes, and UI designs that support complex business processes.
• Plan and conduct user research, usability testing, and design validation to confirm usability and effectiveness.
• Build and maintain Design System libraries and reusable UI components and patterns.
• Partner with developers, BAs, PMs, and engineering teams to align on design solutions.
• Define and execute a reliable UI/UX handoff process to development teams.
• Ensure designs reflect best practices across UX, accessibility, security, and usability.
• Collaborate with backend developers to support frontend and backend integration needs.
• Participate in backlog grooming, sprint planning, and other Agile ceremonies.
• Lead design discussions and manage larger design initiatives where priorities may compete.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to technical staff.

Requirements

• 8+ years designing intuitive, user-centered interfaces for workflow-heavy applications.
• 8+ years in Information Architecture, navigation, and multi-step workflows.
• 8+ years working in Agile/Scrum, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, and iterative delivery.
• 5+ years working with Design Systems, component libraries, reusable patterns, and visual standards.
• 5+ years designing SaaS, enterprise, or other complex digital products.
• 5+ years using modern design tools such as Figma, Axure, Sketch, or similar.
• Experience with WCAG and Section 508 accessibility requirements.
• Understanding of secure UX design practices.
• Experience collaborating with frontend developers on HTML/CSS implementation.
• Familiarity with frontend and backend development environments.
• Strong understanding of UX research, usability testing, prototyping, and user-centered design.
• Strong communication, collaboration, leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Location and Work Schedule

This is a hybrid position in Columbus, OH. The schedule includes onsite every 3rd day at the Shipley Building, 1970 West Broad Street, Columbus, OH.

The candidate must be an Ohio resident, and work must be performed within Ohio.

• 15-minute Teams interview, followed by a full onsite interview.
• Candidate must be prepared to present or share a UI/UX portfolio with work samples.
