Job Description

Design intuitive product experiences at Middesk, helping customers uphold compliance standards and manage risk in highly regulated industries.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering to refine problems, explore solution directions, and deliver designs that balance customer needs, business goals, and technical constraints
  • Own the end-to-end design process, from early discovery through launch, applying design best practices to drive impact at each stage
  • Translate dense or ambiguous data into clear user experiences that build trust and understanding
  • Use storytelling to make complex business identity and risk concepts more approachable, explaining the rationale behind design decisions
  • Shape and evolve Middesk’s design system and visual language to support consistency, accessibility, and high craft across products

Requirements

  • 8+ years of in-house product design experience delivering impactful B2B solutions
  • Direct experience designing platforms that work with business or consumer data
  • Strong portfolio showing the ability to simplify complex or abstract customer challenges into intuitive solutions
  • Product-minded collaboration with PMs to frame problems, scope work, and drive decisions (not waiting for fully defined requirements)
  • Ability to interpret complex data and determine how to represent it in the user experience, with sound judgment about data representation
  • Systems-thinking mindset that connects user experience with API-driven systems
  • Familiarity with developer tooling such as SDK configuration, setup flows, and technical onboarding
  • Deep familiarity with LLM-powered development tooling (Claude Code, Codex, or similar), with the ability to build end-to-end prototypes with little to no engineering support
  • Strong communication skills for clearly articulating design decisions and advocating for customer needs
  • Proactive approach to advancing work, taking initiative to move projects forward and keep teams aligned as priorities shift
  • Proficiency in design tools, including prototyping, collaborating in shared design files, and effectively leveraging and maintaining design system components

Work Location

  • Expectations: 2 days per week in the SF office
  • Role requires candidates to be based within a commutable distance

Compensation

  • USD 200,000 - 225,000 per year
