Senior Product Designer
Job Description
Datadog seeks a Senior Product Designer to drive platform design that scales the user experience across governance, access, teams, identity, and multi-org contexts. This role will shape the roadmap and collaborate closely with product managers and engineers to deliver impactful UI at scale.

Compensation
USD 162,000 - 202,000 per year
Responsibilities
- Develop subject matter expertise and influence the roadmap and product vision as a senior designer.
- Collaborate daily with product managers and engineering partners to uncover customer pain points, explore solutions, and ship UI.
- Prototype in code to share high fidelity ideas early, even when design fidelity is low.
- Maintain tight feedback loops to iterate quickly while shipping incremental steps toward an ideal experience.
- Present work to stakeholders at varying levels of seniority, up to executive leadership.
- Set clear context and describe your solutions to help others understand and buy into your proposals.
- Raise the quality bar for admin experience design.
- Work within a Platform team to coordinate with overlapping product teams, ensuring a coherent experience across contexts.
- Stress-test designs against edge cases to ensure robustness across all expected contexts.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in digital product design
- Experience designing data rich interfaces
- Passion for translating complex technical topics into clear UX
- Ability to develop fluency in technical subject matter and collaborate as a peer with engineering to weigh solutions and tradeoffs
- Exceptional craft and drive to elevate the look and feel of functional UI
- Experience creating component-based design patterns and working with established design systems, with interest in exploring new approaches
- Deep understanding of user archetypes and business needs
- Data driven decision making combined with the ability to make judgment calls based on expertise
- Strong written and verbal communication across Slack, meetings, docs, presentations, and video walkthroughs
- Fluent in AI assisted workflows using tools like Claude Code, Cursor, or Figma Make; daily use for research, analysis, content generation, and rapid prototyping; eagerness to adopt these approaches
- Energized by managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to give and receive feedback to improve team outcomes
