Job Description

Join Route Networking Group (RNG Group) to lead product design across the organization, from early exploration to polished, customer-facing experiences. In this hybrid role based in Boise, ID, you will help establish design foundations, practical systems, and standards while shaping cohesive experiences across the platform and the external tools where buyer intelligence is accessed.

You’ll work with product and engineering partners to influence what gets built and how it is designed, with the ability to advocate for strong craft and clear user outcomes. The role also includes laying groundwork for a future design team while staying actively involved in hands-on execution.

What you’ll do

  • Own product design end-to-end, spanning early-stage exploration through final implementation.
  • Improve usability, functionality, and visual quality of the existing product.
  • Design cohesive experiences across the platform and external tools used to access buyer intelligence.
  • Develop a practical design system that increases consistency and accelerates product development.
  • Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to influence scope, decisions, and design approach.
  • Share clear, constructive feedback, communicate design rationale, and raise overall design quality across the organization.
  • Partner with product stakeholders to answer engineering questions and clarify requirements.
  • Establish and refine the organization’s approach to UX and UI design.
  • Build the foundation for the future of the design function while remaining hands-on in day-to-day design work.

What you bring

  • 5+ years of professional product design experience.
  • A strong portfolio showing thoughtful, end-to-end product design and excellent visual craftsmanship.
  • Experience designing complex software products, workflows, and systems (not just individual screens).
  • A mindset for timely decisions, learning from mistakes, and valuing early imperfect decisions.
  • Experience translating ambiguous problems into clear, intuitive, and useful user experiences.
  • Strong design judgment and confidence to advocate for a point of view.
  • A collaborative style that includes constructively challenging ideas, explaining reasoning, and adapting with evidence.
  • Experience building, maintaining, or contributing to design systems.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Experience using AI tools both within the design process and as part of broader product experiences.
  • A strong passion for interests outside of work, recognizing the value of a well-rounded life and diverse personal pursuits.

Tools and collaboration

  • Working with Claude and Slack.

Compensation and benefits

  • Salary: $190,000–$210,000 base, plus equity
  • Health insurance: Medical, dental, and vision coverage, with the company covering 90% of the employee deductible and 75% of dependent coverage costs
  • Retirement: 401(k) with a 3% company match
  • Paid time off: Unlimited PTO, with an expected minimum of 10 business days taken annually
  • Holidays: 18 company holidays per year
  • Parental leave: 12 weeks of paid parental leave
  • Flexible work environment: Remote-friendly workplace with no required minimum number of office days
  • Team gatherings: Regular team and company-wide in-person events
  • Equity: Meaningful equity participation and the opportunity to define and shape the design function within a growing company

Reports to: Chief Product Officer (CPO)

Other locations: Portland, OR; Bozeman, MT; Boise, ID; New York City, NY

Ideal fit note: This role is most aligned with an individual contributor who enjoys hands-on design and wants meaningful influence over product direction and the development of design practices. If your primary goal is to transition into people management, this role may be less aligned.
