Job Description

Ramp seeks a Product Designer to own end-to-end design for AI-enabled fintech workflows, partnering with product managers and engineers to influence customer behavior and measure impact on key metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of projects from problem framing through launch and iteration, collaborating with product and engineering to define problems, explore solutions, validate concepts, and deliver improvements that move core metrics.
  • Begin work in a large language model environment, using tools like Claude to clarify intent, draft concise PRDs, and surface risks, edge cases, and initial approaches to align quickly with the team.
  • Validate assumptions through self-serve research by speaking with customers, running quick tests, and applying findings to steer direction; treat research as a velocity tool rather than a gate.
  • Prototype with AI tools such as Cursor and Claude Code to iterate on flows and simple interfaces, guiding structure, behavior, and UX quality while AI handles code generation; collaborate with engineers to determine what becomes part of the product.
  • Bridge validated concepts into Figma to achieve full state coverage, system alignment, and production readiness.
  • Design with an 80/20 mindset, encoding essential judgment and complexity behind the scenes while keeping the default experience approachable for most users.
  • Share prompts, patterns, and learnings within the design organization and participate in critiques that raise the overall quality of work.

Requirements

  • Experience as a product designer on complex products, with a preference for work in B2B, fintech, or other systems-heavy contexts.
  • Proven ownership of projects from problem definition through launch and iterative improvement.
  • Active use of large language models such as Claude or ChatGPT within your design workflow.
  • Comfort with tools like Cursor or Claude Code, even if you do not hand write production code.
  • A portfolio that demonstrates strong product thinking, interaction design, and craft.
  • Ability to collaborate with product managers to define success metrics and adapt based on results.
  • Clear communication and comfort working directly with engineers and product managers.
  • Based in or willing to relocate to New York City.
