Principal Product Designer, Spending
Job Description
Chime is hiring a Principal Product Designer, Spending to lead design across spending, savings, and investing experiences in its mobile app.
Responsibilities
- Lead design across spending, savings, and investing experiences, from early concepts through launch and iteration
- Create polished mobile experiences with strong attention to typography, layout, interaction, motion, and product details that support intuitive use
- Translate complex financial concepts into clear, member-friendly experiences that help people make informed decisions
- Explore ambitious ideas, build compelling prototypes, and use feedback to refine the strongest direction
- Partner closely with product, engineering, research, and content design to understand member needs and deliver thoughtful solutions
- Maintain a cohesive point of view across app experiences while identifying opportunities to raise overall design quality
- Provide constructive critique, mentor other designers, and help teams make strong design decisions
Requirements
- Deep experience designing consumer mobile products, with a portfolio showing outstanding visual craft and shipped work
- Track record leading complex product design projects as a senior individual contributor
- Strong interaction design skills, with an ability to make sophisticated experiences feel simple and approachable
- Range to define a vision, communicate it clearly, and work through the details needed to bring it to life
- Experience using research, customer feedback, and product data to inform and improve designs
- Ability to build trust across disciplines, navigate competing priorities, and move teams toward shared direction
- Fintech or financial services experience is a plus (not required)

Work location and schedule
- Onsite in New York, NY
- In-office policy: four days a week in the office, with Fridays from home for those near one of the offices
- Team and company-wide events depending on location
- For those near their offices or part of the fully remote program, engagement with teammates and work continues through the work model
Salary: USD 222,000 - 290,000 per yearly
