Lead UI/UX Designer

GuROO is hiring a Lead UI/UX Designer for hybrid work from Fort Meade, MD, focused on designing and building user-interface apps and prototypes using Power Platform and related web technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop user-interface app experiences; produce mockups in PowerApps or via graphic design tools
• Create vector-based graphics and implement vector graphics using XML/HTML programming
• Build prototypes, with emphasis on UI/UX components in PowerApps (reusable, customizable component patterns)
• Develop individual design elements such as buttons, boxes, animation sequences, and app themes/styles
• Build Power Automate custom flows, including in constrained environments where premium licenses and/or API connections are not readily available
• Use PowerApps advanced techniques to create custom components and custom applications using manual layouts and gallery layouts
• Handle application data flows from Dataverse and SharePoint, and ingest data from spreadsheets for app use
• Implement UI/UX behavior using PowerApps components plus HTML, creating custom interfaces and attributes instead of relying on the stock PowerApps catalog
• Support application development pipeline workflows using PowerApps CLI or equivalent experience (sandbox to production movement, version control practices)
• Document requirements and maintain status updates (started, not started, complete)
• Run preliminary user testing, functional testing, and regression testing; document findings and track progress until completion

Requirements

• Advanced Power Platform experience
• Power Automate: building custom flows, particularly in constrained environments without premium licenses and/or readily available API connections
• PowerApps: advanced knowledge creating custom components and custom applications using manual layouts and gallery layouts
• UI/UX implementation: using PowerApps components and HTML to create custom interfaces and behaviors/attributes versus using the stock PowerApps catalog
• PowerApps CLI (or similar): experience managing a development pipeline such as sandbox-to-production promotion and version control
• JSON: frequently used to collect large volumes of data and store them compactly
• HTML: web design HTML and HTML controls inside a PowerApps environment (buttons, animations, conditional behaviors)
• CSS: especially inline CSS for constrained environments
• Documentation / Testing: ability to document requirements and testing outcomes
