Job Description

NuAxis Innovations is hiring a UI/UX Expert to help shape intuitive, accessible, and responsive digital product experiences. This Washington, DC onsite role focuses on turning user needs into clear workflows, prototypes, and reusable design systems, while partnering closely with product managers, developers, and stakeholders to ensure accessibility standards are built in from the start.

What you’ll do

  • Conduct user research to understand needs, pain points, and user behavior.
  • Design responsive, mobile-first interfaces that balance usability with accessibility.
  • Create wireframes, user flows, workflows, and interactive prototypes for new features and products.
  • Support WCAG/508 accessibility compliance across designs and deliverables.
  • Build and maintain style guides, design systems, and component libraries to keep brand consistency across products.
  • Collaborate with developers to help ensure designs integrate smoothly into modern frameworks such as React and Angular.
  • Run usability tests, analyze feedback, and iterate to improve the overall user experience.
  • Stay current with design trends, tools, and emerging technologies to improve visual and functional quality.

What you bring

  • 3–5 years of experience in UX/UI design and development.
  • Proficiency with tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD (or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of responsive web design and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Experience working with modern JavaScript frameworks, including React, Angular, or Vue.
  • Knowledge of API integration workflows that inform design decisions.
  • Proven ability to design for accessibility using WCAG 2.1 and Section 508.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to present and defend design decisions.
  • A portfolio showcasing user-centered design thinking and high-quality UI/UX deliverables.

Preferred

  • Familiarity with motion design or micro-interactions to enhance user experience.
  • Experience with design tokens or advanced design system management.
  • Understanding of Agile/Scrum practices and working effectively in cross-functional teams.

Location: Washington, DC (onsite). Minimum experience: 3 years.
