Job Description

Join Tracen Technologies in Virginia onsite and help shape practical, user-focused digital experiences across the web and mobile. In this UI/UX Developer role, you will design, build, and refine website and application interfaces, taking ownership of work from early design through implementation and troubleshooting.

What you will do

  • Work with the engineering team to create and implement website designs and mobile and web application user interfaces
  • Participate across the full software development lifecycle, including design, development, unit testing, optimizations, technical documentation, and bug fixes
  • Create wireframes, workflows, and/or screen mockups
  • Translate mockups into front-end code
  • Design and edit web pages and other content to support UI requirements
  • Troubleshoot front-end coding issues and address browser compatibility problems
  • Adhere to brand standards while developing user experiences
  • Stay current on topics related to web and user experience design

What you bring

  • 6+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience in implementing web design
  • Expertise with Adobe Creative Suite, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript
  • Proficiency with jQuery and Knockout
  • Strong understanding of web standards and User Experience (UX)
  • Experience with Responsive Web Design
  • Cross-platform and cross-browser development experience
  • Angular, MVC, and C# experience is a plus
  • Self-starter mindset with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Ability to handle short deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Prior experience developing mobile applications for iOS or Android (including academic experience) is a HUGE plus
  • Must be a United States Citizen

Education

BA/BS degree in Visual Arts, Graphics Design, or a related field is preferred.

On the tools side, the role aligns with Adobe Creative Suite, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, Knockout, and web standards and UX, with Responsive Web Design as a core focus. Angular, MVC, C#, plus iOS and Android experience are also supported by the technology set.
