UI/UX Designer

Cloud and Things, Inc is seeking a UI/UX Designer to help advance rider experience across digital products used in bus and subway contexts. In this hybrid role based in New York, NY, you will work with a cross-functional team to improve complex mobile flows, elevate design systems, and strengthen UX practices through research and quality-driven testing.

This position supports public-sector infrastructure initiatives and centers on user-centered design for high-impact, real-world experiences. The role is structured to drive consistency across multiple digital platforms and to translate rider needs into clear, actionable design outcomes.

Role Overview

• Lead user-centered design efforts for complex mobile experiences and partner with research, product, engineering, and creative teams.
• Strengthen design systems and UX processes to improve the overall rider journey.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain design systems and style guides to ensure consistency across digital platforms, including signage-related digital experiences for NYCT, LIRR, and MNR.
• Partner with user research to understand rider needs, behaviors, and pain points, and maintain a user feedback loop to continuously improve UX.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, the Creative team, and other stakeholders to align user needs, brand standards, and business goals.
• Present design concepts, user insights, and research findings to senior leadership and other stakeholders.
• Establish and document UX processes and best practices, and implement user testing and other quality-control measures.

Requirements

• 8+ years of UX design experience, with a focus on mobile applications.
• Proven experience leading UX for complex digital products.
• Experience working in Agile development environments and with design systems.
• 6+ years of advanced communication experience, including presenting design concepts and findings to stakeholders.
• 6+ years of strong leadership experience, including championing user-centered design practices.
• 6+ years of user interface design experience, with proficiency in UX design tools and strong visual design skills.
• Ability to work effectively with complex requirements while maintaining close attention to detail.

• Compensation: W2 Hourly Rate: $50-55/hour
