UI/UX Designer

Ciitizen is seeking a UI/UX designer to shape world-class user experiences end-to-end, from early concept through final product release. This is an in-house, onsite role in Mountain View, CA, focused on crafting pixel-perfect interfaces, prototyping effectively, and collaborating closely with engineering and product partners to turn business requirements into intuitive UI across platforms.

What you’ll do

• Move a project quickly from concept to design, prototype, and final implementation.
• Create pixel-perfect UI mockups from wireframes and UX direction.
• Explore novel approaches to visualizing information, especially in complex, data-driven experiences.
• Partner with cross-functional teams across engineering, product, and business to translate requirements into intuitive interfaces on web and mobile.
• Write front-end code to implement an advanced user experience as part of delivering the finished product.

What you’ll need

You bring 5+ years of experience and strong knowledge in UX/UI and visual design, plus the front-end skills to build what you design.

• Expertise in UX/UI, graphic design, HTML5, and CSS, along with Sketch and Adobe CS tools.
• Ability to deliver innovative UI experiences from concept to prototype to final product, including user research, storyboarding, wireframing, and interactive design.
• Experience collaborating with engineering to implement UI templates and design specifications for visual consistency across platforms such as Web, iOS/Android, Messaging, and Email.
• Experience designing responsive interfaces for complex data visualization using graphs, timelines, and map-oriented views.
• JavaScript development experience, including build tools such as npm, babel, and Webpack, and server-side web frameworks such as Express (Node.js).
• Experience with precompiled CSS languages like SASS, LESS, or Stylus.
• Experience writing tests with frameworks such as Mocha, Chai, and Jasmine.
• Bachelor’s Degree in UX Design, HCI, Graphic Design, or equivalent.
