Job Description
Photon has initiated a strategic modernization of a mission-critical retail platform and seeks a UI/UX Designer to shape the end-to-end experience. The role translates validated discovery workflows into pixel-perfect, practical interfaces that underpin the pilot rollout for high-frequency tasks like quoting and payment processing within a complex, integrated environment.

Responsibilities
- Develop high-fidelity interfaces for core customer-facing workflows, prioritizing clarity and speed for Search, Quoting, Inventory, and Payments.
- Create interactive prototypes to test user flows, emphasizing how the UI manages real-time data from API integrations.
- Adapt designs for various retail hardware and screen sizes to ensure device readiness for the pilot.
- Contribute to and maintain a centralized design system with scalable components for future multi-vertical expansion.
- Collaborate daily with developers to confirm feasibility within the routing layer and to address UI constraints from legacy backend systems.
- Refine workflows based on discovery and build-phase feedback to reduce friction in transactional retail tasks.
Requirements
- UI/UX Craft: 6+ years of product design experience with a strong portfolio showcasing complex transactional interfaces (dashboards, POS, e-commerce).
- Systemic Thinking: Experience contributing to robust design systems and style guides.
- Interaction Design: Solid understanding of micro-interactions, state management (loading, success, error), and user feedback loops.
- Retail Context: Awareness of retail environment challenges such as high-glare screens, touch-screen targets, and rapid-use workflows.
