Job Description
Turnaround: Teacher - Vocational Tech [Graphic Design and Visual Communication], Grades 9-12 (SY26-27), Boston Public Schools, onsite in Boston, MA.
Responsibilities
- Deliver a vocational technical course aligned to state curriculum frameworks for graphics design and visual communication, ensuring a safe learning environment.
- Align instructional content with the school's curriculum map to develop equitable student outcomes in vocational skills.
- Earn and/or maintain all required licensure.
Requirements
- Education: Associate’s degree or higher related to the subject matter and skills to be taught.
- Experience: Four years of full-time employment experience directly related to the field.
- Eligibility to earn a Massachusetts Vocational Tech Teaching License in the 9-12 subject by passing the subject-specific written and performance exams and one MTEL literacy skill.
- Ability to obtain Massachusetts Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) Endorsement.
- Ability to meet Boston Public Schools Standards of Effective Teaching.
- Current authorization to work in the United States by the first day of employment.

Qualifications - Preferred
- Experience teaching in urban schools and/or industry settings.
- OSHA-10 certification or willingness to earn it.
- Industry-recognized credentials aligned with the curriculum and ability to train students to earn those credentials.
- Fluency in one of Boston Public Schools' official languages (Spanish, Creole variants, Chinese, Vietnamese, Portuguese, Somali) is valued.
- Core content certification in the subject area plus either Moderate Disabilities or English as a Second Language at the appropriate grade level(s).
