Job Description

The role focuses on delivering instruction for CCCR - Digital Publications/Graphic Design (Yearbook) within Mesa Public Schools. This onsite position emphasizes aligning teaching with district standards, fostering a positive learning environment, and supporting student achievement in a digital publications and graphic design curriculum.

Location

Mesa, AZ, onsite.

Compensation

USD 55,886 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Exhibits solid knowledge of the subject area, instructional methods, and supporting resources.
  • Embraces diverse and effective teaching and classroom management approaches.
  • Tailors lesson plans, materials, and assessments to the diverse needs and abilities of students while aligning with school and district goals.
  • Incorporates district-approved textbooks and curriculum guides into planning and delivery.
  • Integrates higher-order thinking strategies and real-world applications into lessons.
  • Develops instructional and assessment resources aligned with objectives and chosen instructional approaches.
  • Leverages available technology and instructional media to enrich learning experiences.
  • Regularly gathers and analyzes student achievement data through various tools to inform teaching decisions that boost achievement.
  • Establishes and maintains positive classroom management in alignment with regulations.
  • Builds positive relationships with students and keeps open communication with students and families about academic and behavioral progress.
  • Collaborates with parents and school staff to ensure appropriate education for each student.
  • Maintains and utilizes student records related to achievement, attendance, and conduct.
  • Creates a positive, safe learning environment.
  • Contributes to school goals and addresses school concerns.
  • Sets and communicates high expectations for every student.
  • Assists with additional duties relevant to the assignment and Mesa Public Schools.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Valid Arizona CTE teaching certification
  • Prior teaching experience
  • Experience as an associate teacher, through student teaching or practicum
  • Models the attributes and skills of the MPS Portrait of a Graduate

  • Demonstrates knowledge of related subject matter, instructional skills, and resource materials
  • Utilizes a variety of effective instructional and management techniques

  • Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) with parents and school personnel at all levels
  • Maintains a professional appearance and demonstrates behavior that is conscientious and responsible
  • Interacts professionally with other staff in academic planning and school committee work
  • Attends and participates in staff meetings and extra-curricular or school-related activities and committees
  • Demonstrates a commitment to continuous professional growth
