Job Description

The Senior Web Designer leads the creation of modern, accessible, and user-friendly digital experiences for public-sector solutions at Tyler Technologies. The role involves mentoring design teams, owning end-to-end design projects, and collaborating across disciplines to ensure usability, accessibility, and adherence to organizational standards. This onsite position is based in Little Rock, Arkansas, and requires a Bachelor’s degree in a design-related discipline with at least five years of professional experience.

Responsibilities

  • Steer design initiatives for websites and applications, delivering wireframes, mockups, and refined user interfaces.
  • Shape user experience strategy and ensure visual outcomes align with client objectives.
  • Develop scalable design systems and reusable visual components to sustain long-term consistency.
  • Ensure adherence to accessibility and compliance standards, including WCAG and Section 508.
  • Mentor junior designers and foster growth within the design team.
  • Participate in internal process improvements, identifying efficiencies and applying design best practices.
  • Lead or participate in cross-functional planning, retrospectives, and creative reviews.
  • Provide training and guidance to clients on using the content management system from a design and usability perspective.
  • Collaborate across teams to ensure seamless integration of design, content, and overall project goals.
  • Support the team with additional creative tasks and projects as needed to enhance overall effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a design-related discipline or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum five years of experience designing responsive, accessible web interfaces.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating advanced website and UI/UX design work.
  • Deep understanding of accessibility guidelines and web standards (Section 508, WCAG).
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Photoshop, Illustrator, among others.
  • Experience working with CMS platforms from design, development, and content perspectives.
  • Strong client communication skills with the ability to present and justify design decisions.
  • Proven experience mentoring or leading other team members.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
