Job Description

Join TikTok's Design Platform team in San Jose, onsite, to shape end-to-end experiences and translate ambitious ideas into polished interfaces implemented in code with React and TypeScript. This senior role combines design leadership with hands-on execution, collaborating closely with Product and Engineering to bring AI-powered capabilities to developers and users. The position offers a base salary range of $108,000 to $220,400 annually, depending on qualifications.

Team introduction

TikTok Platforms power the underlying systems that support our global short-form video experience. The platform design team creates interfaces and flows on top of core technologies so employees and external partners can understand and use them effectively. For example, copyright platforms help protect original content, while Open Platform helps connect APIs and explain capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design process from concept to final product, including user flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes.
  • Implement designs in code (React, TypeScript, etc.), ensuring shipped work matches the vision with polish and precision.
  • Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering to translate complex AI capabilities into intuitive, developer-friendly experiences.
  • Continuously test, learn, and iterate, using feedback and data to refine the user experience.
  • Champion design quality and user empathy, shaping both the product and the way it is built.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, HCI or equivalent experience.
  • A portfolio showcasing strong design principles and a deep understanding of user-centered design.
  • 5+ years of experience in product design, UX design, and front-end or full-stack development.
  • Proficiency in Figma and modern design workflows, familiar with vibe-coding tools such as Trae and Cursor.
  • Fluent in modern front-end tech, including JavaScript, TypeScript, and React.
  • Experience with front-end tools and libraries such as MUI, shadcn, Next.js, and Tailwind.
