Product Designer (UI/UX)
Job Description
An onsite Product Designer role at Saronic Technologies in Austin, TX focuses on user-centered design for autonomous surface vessels and related systems. The position requires close collaboration with engineering, operations, and DoD stakeholders to deliver intuitive, functional, and visually compelling experiences throughout the product lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Help shape the strategic direction for product and design, contributing to decision making at the design and product level
- Manage end-to-end design execution from discovery and ideation through prototyping, testing, and delivery
- Leverage storytelling to communicate design rationale and align stakeholders around the process
- Influence the end-to-end operator experiences for critical workflows
- Maintain high craft standards to craft innovative experiences at the edge, translating insights into platform improvements
- Balance near-term tactical bets with meaningful progress toward long-term strategic goals
- Contribute to shaping the operating methods of a centralized product design function in a fast-paced environment
Requirements
- 6+ years of related industry experience
- Meticulous attention to detail and mastery of visual and interaction design
- Online portfolio showcasing multimodal design experiences
- Ability to clearly articulate design rationale, process, and impact
- Prior defense industry experience is not required
