Senior Product Designer
Job Description
Boats Group is seeking a Senior Product Designer to help shape consumer product experiences across web and mobile. Based in Miami, FL with a hybrid schedule, this role centers on end-to-end ownership of a meaningful product area, from early discovery through launch, measurement, and iteration.
In partnership with Product, Engineering, Research, Data, and Design leadership, you will evolve marketplace experiences and translate ambiguous, high-impact problems into clear product directions and testable MVPs. The role emphasizes strong UX and interaction design, thoughtful trade-offs, and close collaboration through implementation.
What you’ll do
- Own end-to-end product design for a significant product area, moving from discovery and early concepts through launch, measurement, and iteration.
- Translate complex customer and business problems into intuitive experiences across responsive web and mobile.
- Explore and define 1 experiences, guiding teams from emerging opportunity to clear product direction and a testable MVP.
- Improve existing marketplace experiences by identifying opportunities to enhance usability, engagement, conversion, and customer value.
- Work closely with Product and Engineering to define problems, shape requirements, establish scope, and make product trade-offs.
- Use customer research, behavioral data, analytics, experimentation, and usability testing to inform and validate design decisions.
- Create user flows, concepts, prototypes, and production-ready designs appropriate to each stage of product development.
- Design cohesive journeys, systems, states, and interactions beyond individual screens.
- Partner directly with engineers during implementation to maintain design quality while working within technical constraints.
- Contribute to and evolve design systems, patterns, and shared product conventions.
- Communicate design rationale and product thinking clearly to partners and senior stakeholders.
- Raise product quality through interaction design, visual craft, systems thinking, and attention to detail.
- Support a strong design culture through critique and collaboration.
What you bring
- 5+ years of product design experience, ideally on consumer-facing digital products.
- A strong portfolio showing shipped work and your role in taking problems from discovery through execution and iteration.
- Experience owning complex product areas or initiatives with a high degree of autonomy.
- Strong product thinking that connects customer needs, business goals, and technical realities.
- The ability to bring structure and clarity to ambiguous problems without relying on fully defined requirements.
- Excellent UX and interaction design skills, including simplifying complex workflows and systems.
- Strong visual design craft, including hierarchy, typography, layout, spacing, responsive behavior, and interaction states.
- Experience using qualitative research, quantitative data, and experimentation to guide product decisions.
- Advanced proficiency in Figma, including components, shared libraries, prototyping, and scalable design systems.
- Experience partnering closely with Product and Engineering across the product development lifecycle.
- Strong communication and storytelling skills to articulate design decisions and influence stakeholders.
- Experience using AI tools to accelerate exploration, prototyping, research synthesis, content development, or other parts of the design process.
