Manager, UX & UI Design
Job Description
Santander Bank is seeking a UX & UI Design manager to lead the creation of intuitive, highly usable digital experiences across web and mobile platforms. The role partners with UX Designers, Product Managers, Product Owners, and development teams to deliver polished visual design work and interactive prototypes that align with design systems, accessibility standards, and brand guidelines.

Compensation
- USD 90,000 - 145,000 per year
Role Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with UX Designers to convert research findings, user flows, wireframes, and interaction models into polished visual designs.
- Create high-fidelity mockups, screen designs, and interactive prototypes for web and mobile using Figma.
- Apply and maintain design system standards to support consistency across products, platforms, and development teams.
- Design responsive user interfaces that work across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
- Create and maintain reusable UI components, patterns, templates, and design system documentation.
- Produce detailed design specifications and implementation guidance for development teams.
- Partner with Scrum teams across the development lifecycle to help ensure accurate implementation and quality standards.
- Create visual assets, layouts, interaction states, and UI components aligned with business requirements and brand standards.
- Coordinate with Product Managers, Product Owners, UX Designers, developers, and business stakeholders to deliver user-centered solutions.
- Participate in product discovery sessions, design reviews, usability testing, and stakeholder feedback sessions.
- Advocate for accessibility, visual consistency, and interface design best practices.
- Contribute to the evolution and governance of enterprise design systems and component libraries.
- Review implemented solutions and recommend refinements to improve usability, consistency, and visual quality.
- Stay current on UI design trends, emerging technologies, accessibility standards, and industry best practices.
Required Qualifications
- 5β7 years of professional experience in UX research, product discovery, interaction design, information architecture, usability testing, and experience design.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct customer research, synthesize findings, and translate insights into actionable product and design recommendations.
- Experience leading end-to-end UX activities from discovery and research through validation and delivery.
- Experience creating user flows, journey maps, wireframes, prototypes, and information architecture for complex digital products.
- Hands-on experience with usability testing, accessibility reviews, and evidence-based design practices.
- Experience partnering with product management, technology teams, and business stakeholders in Agile development environments.
- Strong portfolio showing UI design, visual design, responsive design, and digital product design for web and mobile.
- Proficiency with Figma and modern design and prototyping tools.
- Strong understanding of typography, color theory, layout, spacing, visual hierarchy, iconography, and interface design principles.
- Experience designing and maintaining scalable design systems, component libraries, and style guides.
- Ability to transform UX concepts, wireframes, and workflows into production-ready visual designs.
- Solid knowledge of UX principles, interaction design, usability standards, and user-centered design methodologies.
- Experience designing responsive interfaces across desktop and mobile platforms.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards, including WCAG, and inclusive design best practices.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to design quality and consistency.
- Experience collaborating with software engineers and providing development-ready design specifications.
- Familiarity with Agile and Scrum software development methodologies.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong collaboration skills, including providing and receiving constructive feedback.

Education
- Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) in Graphic Design, Visual Design, Digital Design, User Experience Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Interaction Design, Digital Media, or a related field required.
Preferred Experience
- Experience building or contributing to enterprise design systems and reusable interaction patterns.
- Experience delivering solutions for complex business workflows and enterprise applications.
- Experience in financial services, insurance, healthcare, or other regulated industries.
- Experience in one or more of the following industries: Consumer Directed Healthcare, flexible benefits, employee benefits administration, banking, healthcare, or similar sectors serving employer-sponsored benefit programs.
