Job Description

Tombras is seeking a Creative Director, Art to lead the creative vision across integrated brand work in Portland, OR. In this onsite role, you will guide multidisciplinary teams, partner closely with clients, and champion strategically grounded, culturally relevant, high-craft creative that delivers measurable business impact.

Role Overview

You will set the creative direction for agency projects, steer integrated campaign development across multiple channels, and provide hands-on creative leadership from early concepts through final execution. The position also includes building trusted client relationships and contributing to agency marketing, new business pitches, and thought leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Set and champion the creative vision across agency work, ensuring each project reflects strategic thinking and creative excellence.
  • Lead development of integrated campaigns spanning brand, digital, social, experiential, video, print, and emerging platforms.
  • Push teams to move beyond expected approaches to create distinctive, memorable ideas that support clients’ business goals.
  • Provide actionable creative direction throughout the full creative process, from concept to final deliverables.
  • Inspire, coach, and develop a multidisciplinary team including designers, copywriters, art directors, content creators, and freelance talent.
  • Foster collaboration where diverse perspectives are valued and creative risk-taking is encouraged.
  • Deliver regular feedback that strengthens skills and confidence across the team.
  • Lead by example with curiosity, humility, and a hands-on approach.
  • Build trusted client relationships by confidently presenting work, facilitating creative conversations, and translating business challenges into compelling creative solutions.
  • Partner with account and strategy teams to align creative efforts with client objectives and audience insights.
  • Navigate feedback with professionalism while protecting the integrity of the creative work.
  • Contribute to agency marketing, new business pitches, and thought leadership.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen creative processes and improve collaboration across teams.
  • Help shape the future of the agency through contributions to culture, talent development, and creative innovation.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in a creative agency, including leading integrated campaigns across multiple channels.
  • Experience leading, mentoring, and developing creative teams.
  • A portfolio showing breakthrough creative thinking, exceptional craft, and measurable business impact.
  • Strong experience presenting creative work to senior clients and executive stakeholders.
  • Expertise across brand development, advertising, digital, social media, experiential, and content creation.
  • Excellent communication, storytelling, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and modern creative workflows.
  • A collaborative leadership style that builds trust, encourages feedback, and elevates others.
  • Passion for culture, creativity, design, and the evolving creative landscape.
