Job Description

Art Director opportunity at Oatey in Cleveland, OH with a hybrid work setup and a competitive yearly compensation package.

Responsibilities

  • Set and drive the creative direction for Oatey and its brand family across North America and Europe, delivering visually compelling, on-brand work that aligns with business goals.
  • Collaborate with Brand, Product, and Channel Marketing teams to translate strategic objectives into creative initiatives that strengthen the brand and support growth.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the graphic design team, cultivating a culture of creativity, innovation, collaboration and ongoing professional development.
  • Coordinate with external agencies, photographers, freelancers and global creative teams to produce cohesive, high-quality solutions.
  • Champion creative excellence by tracking design trends, new technologies and AI-enabled tools to enhance capabilities and efficiency.
  • Provide strategic oversight of packaging, labels and production artwork to ensure manufacturability, quality and brand consistency.
  • Direct the creation of marketing assets supporting brands and products, including displays, brochures, catalogs, literature, advertising, digital content, ecommerce assets, internal communications and logos.
  • Review and approve concepts, layouts and final deliverables to ensure alignment with brand standards and quality benchmarks.
  • Maintain and refine visual brand standards to strengthen consistency across all customer touchpoints.
  • Manage creative workload and priorities in Wrike to optimize resources and ensure timely project delivery.
  • Collaborate with the Creative Operations Specialist to improve design processes, file management and production efficiencies.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in creative design.
  • At least 5 years in a supervisory role.
  • Deep knowledge of graphic design principles for product packaging, labels, marketing collateral, digital media, point-of-sale materials and other customer-facing assets.
  • Proven experience producing production-ready artwork for consumer and industrial packaging formats with strong print production and pre-press understanding.
  • Experience in a consumer-packaged goods environment is required.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and collaborate across cross-functional teams.
  • Experience working with external agencies, vendors and global creative teams.
  • Strong project management and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated creativity with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop).
  • Experience with Digital Asset Management (DAM) systems is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Communications or an equivalent field.

Compensation and Profit Sharing

  • Salary range: USD 101,974 to 163,158 per year
  • Target cash profit sharing: 15%

Physical Activities and Other Working Conditions

  • Hybrid and in-person work is required at corporate sites per policy
  • Primarily sedentary; extended computer use with regular typing and screen focus
  • Occasional standing, walking and lifting up to 10–15 pounds
  • Work environment is climate-controlled with moderate noise
  • Minimal travel required
