AI Product Designer Graduate (TikTok-Design) - 2027 Start

TikTok is hiring a Graduate AI Product Designer (TikTok-Design) with a 2027 start date for a Regular role based in San Jose, CA (onsite). In this position, you will shape the design of TikTok’s AI products and tools from early concept through launch, working closely with Product and Engineering to deliver an experience that is trustworthy and user-centered.

Role overview

As a graduate AI Product Designer, you will translate business goals and user needs into design that supports implementation. The role includes defining design standards for AI experiences, staying current with AI interaction trends, and using AI tools to improve day-to-day design efficiency and quality.

Responsibilities

• Design TikTok’s AI products and tools from concept to launch.
• Partner with Product and Engineering to build a trustworthy, user-centric AI experience.
• Understand business goals and user needs; drive C-side design from logic mapping to final implementation.
• Stay current with AI interaction trends and help define design standards for AI products.
• Use AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Cursor in daily workflows to boost efficiency and quality.

Requirements

• Currently completing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in HCI, AI, Computer Science, Design, Psychology, or a related discipline.
• Strong interaction and UI skills; proficient in Figma and familiar with iOS and Android design guidelines.
• Frequent user of AI products with clear understanding of AI capabilities and interaction paradigms.
• Self-motivated, hands-on, and learning-oriented approach.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Interest in AI product design, curiosity, and a global perspective.

Preferred qualifications

• AI product design internship experience or a portfolio/case study.
• Skills in visual, motion, or user research design.
• C-side product design experience and familiarity with component-based systems.

Compensation and pay transparency

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $76,000 - $151,200 annually. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on factors including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is part of the Total Package, and the role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives and restricted stock units.
