Job Description

Guidehouse's Defense & Security practice seeks a Website and Graphic Design Lead to direct the visual design of web and multimedia deliverables for a Department of State engagement. This onsite role in Arlington, VA combines human-centered design with structured project management to boost clarity, usability, and impact across digital assets, reports, and communications.

Responsibilities

  • Translate complex technical concepts into accessible visuals, including infographics, reports, presentations, and multimedia, for both the general public and internal federal audiences.
  • Develop and maintain standardized visual systems, templates, and identity guidelines to ensure consistency across communications.
  • Apply human-centered design methods to enhance clarity, discoverability, and usability of web and multimedia products.
  • Oversee web content management with structured workflows, ensuring accuracy, Section 508 accessibility, and alignment with stakeholder needs.
  • Monitor user engagement metrics such as time on site, downloads, open rates, and video views, using insights to shape content and design decisions.
  • Track performance trends and propose iterative improvements to increase effectiveness and impact.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align design and content strategies, ensuring timely, high-quality delivery.
  • Manage multiple concurrent design projects from intake through delivery using structured project management techniques to maintain quality and deadlines.
  • Incorporate stakeholder feedback to refine design and multimedia products for clarity, usability, and mission alignment.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline design processes and enhance scalability through improved tools, templates, and standards.

Requirements

  • Active and maintained Secret clearance (federal or DoD).
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • At least 3 years of graphic design experience.
