Job Description

As a Visual Web Designer - AI Trainer, you will assess how frontier AI models perform on real visual design tasks and compare outputs to professional quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Create challenging, realistic design briefs based on your own professional expertise
  • Run briefs through frontier AI design tools and evaluate results against the standard you would apply to a colleague
  • Compare two model versions using identical prompts and assets, selecting which performed better and identifying where each fell short
  • Critique AI-generated outputs across interfaces, mockups, layouts, slides, infographics, illustrations, and motion
  • Document concrete failures with evidence, including alignment and spacing, content overflow and cutoff, typography, visual hierarchy, SVG and illustration quality, ignored assets, and off-brief interpretation
  • Contribute across software and interactive work, office and presentation design, technical illustration, graphic design, and new media

Requirements

  • Fluency in English (native or bilingual level)
  • Background in UI/UX design, web design, product design, or graphic design
  • Strong understanding of visual hierarchy, layout, typography, interaction design, and user flow
  • Ability to explain why a design fails, not just that it fails
  • Comfort working with AI design tools, or ability to learn them quickly
  • Current, in progress, or completed Bachelor’s preferred but not required
