Designer / Art Director

JDA Worldwide is looking for a Designer / Art Director to join its team in Indianapolis, IN (onsite). This role centers on building brands from the beginning: translating business challenges into clear, compelling ideas, then carrying that thinking through identity, environments, and motion. You will also work confidently across video and editing, using AI thoughtfully when it improves outcomes and avoiding it when it does not.

What you’ll do

• Dig into a brand’s business problem and shape an idea from the start, rather than focusing only on presentation at the end.
• Build a brand from the ground up, including the logo, identity system, and environmental graphics on the building.
• Work comfortably both on set during a video shoot and in the edit bay.
• Use AI where it helps, and leave it out where it doesn’t.
• Bring strong craft and communicate with a collaborative mindset.

What you bring

• 5+ years of experience at an agency or studio.
• A portfolio where your work speaks for itself.
• Strong ability and a mindset that still leaves room to grow.
• Judgment to know when to push and when to stop.
• Ideas that are simple, clear, and easy to explain.
• A process grounded in asking why before focusing on how.
• Submission of a handful of your best projects, including at least one with real emotional impact.
• A short note about yourself, including the last piece of design that made you feel jealous.
